The Palace Of Illutions has been written by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. Which is a rendition of the hindu epic mahabharath which has been portrayed from Draupadi’s point of you. This retelling is not an ordinary one, this novel takes us to the magical world narrated by Draupadi (THE PANCHAALI) wife of five husbands and the girl who has been born out of the “fire”. Who faces the patriarchal society with great boldness, who calls her self “Panchaali”.
Hats off Chitra Banerjee who has written an amazing book which re-tells the world famous epic, taking us back to the time that is half history, half myth and which takes us to wholly magical world and leaves us astonished.
She is an Indian-American author, poet, Betty and Gene McDavid Professor of Writing at the University of Houston. Divakaruni’s works are usually set in India and United Sates. And she often focuses on the experiences of South-Asian immigrants. Her genres include realistic fiction, historical fiction, magical realism, myth and fantasy.
The first chapter ” Fire”opens as how Draupadi, a little girl who is very interested in knowing about the story of her birth. Where we actually figure out how curies she is right from her childhood. She also calls her self ” The Uninvited One”. As the king never wanted a girl child.

The second chapter ” Blue “ talks about how Draupadi and Krishna got along very well. It looks like Draupadi feels a bit inferior due to her skin complexion but later Krishna makes her understand the fact that darkness is just a color. He also says it’s nothing to do with your intelligence. She realizes the fact that darkness has it’s own magnetism. This also portrays how darkness is essential in our daily lives.

The third chapter ” Milk” is about how Draupadi used to come up with different kinds of stories. It starts with a little kid crying for milk and somehow his mom arranges him with mixing flour, jagari and by adding water into it.The only hope that the mother has is “To provide milk for the child right now so that he can conquer blood later”.
Chitra Banerjee brought in a unique style of writing. Where nobody else has written like this. This is a female concentric narrative style where Chitra Banerjee has highlighted the importance of niyoga in the past. She has portrayed Draupadi in such a manner that she makes everyone admire at Draupadi’s character. I am sure that this will be a book which will be remembered for generations.
‘Triple Talak‘ which is a customary practice among the muslims where the marriage breaks once the husband says talaq three times. Once he completes telling the third time, the woman should agree to his terms and conditions and she can no longer stay with her in-laws neither her husband.

Don’t any of you feel that this custom is unfair and biased against women? This custom doesn’t give the woman her freedom for making her own choices and decisions. Not just this, universally this practice is being criticized and this custom has been banned in 22 countries across the globe for its blindness.
The supreme court on August 22nd 2017, declared that this particular practice of the Triple Talaq as unconstitutional and stated that it was obligue as per Article 14 and 21.
Very recently, a woman from Uttar Pradesh was allegedly cut off by her in-laws when she refused to withdraw her triple talak case. Where she didn’t want to break her marriage with her husband but choicelessly she had to leave her husband.
Sources say that, Lok Sabha on Thursday, passed the bill to ban instant triple talaq and jail Muslim men who indulge in instant divorce, even as the opposition called it a discriminatory legislation and BJP ally JDU staged a walkout. Which also means the ruling party is against this decision of removing the talak system.
How long will the women suffer in the clutches of the man dominated culture lets break the shackle and come out of the hidden bubble where we have been hiding for years

The un-natural death of the famous business magnet, VR Siddhartha caused a huge turmoil in the country. Who has been one of the leading businessmen in the country owning the Cafe Chain ‘Cafe Coffee Day‘
Souces say, two days prior to his death he revealed that he was in deep debt that he is unable to pay back to his employees. And two days after disclosing his debt issue, he was found washed in the Karnataka’s Netravati river.

For now, we cannot call it a suicide because we are not quite clearnif he jumped from the cliff on his own or if there was some pressure behind it..which means a murder
Sources say that, he went missing for 36 hours and was only found through a 36 hour investigation
The strong evidence for this incident was a fisherman who has seen VR Siddhartha jumping into Netravathi river from a great height. This happened almost 24 hours after his driver raised an alarm about the missing businessman.

The time gap between each incident was 1-1/2 hours. At around 5:28PM the Cafe Chain owner was last seen on CCTV near his house. And then at 6:30PM, Siddhartha asked the driver to stop the car near the river and asked him to wait outside. After about one and half hours of waiting, he called the cafe owner where his mobile was unreachable. And, from there started the investigation.

Just before his death he left a note saying“I have failed to create the right profitable business model despite my best efforts. I would like to say I gave it my all. I am very sorry to let down all the people that put their trust in me. I fought for a long time but today I gave up as I could not take any more pressure…,”This note also reveals that VR Siddhartha was in deep debt. Since his debt was unbearable and un-repayable he had no other choice than suicide.
Here! comes a question
My head cracking question is to all of you. If VR Siddhartha really wanted to commit suicide why did he take the driver along with him? And the next question in my head is, Siddhartha leaving all the possible places at home why did he choose to go to the river and jump. seeing all these mysterious circumstances, it dosent seem like a suicide, though the sources have proved that its a suicide. Something more is to be dug which is burried

During the hot summer vacation. Where the sun was dancing above our heads. I planned to go to my grandmother’s house which is in Andhra Pradesh. And the school had declared sixty days holidays. But let me tell you this vacation was not like any other vacation. It was something unique for me and it surprised me a lot of learnings in me.
Whenever I go to granny’s house. What I usually do is that I play with my neighbor on the streets. But this time I wanted to try something different. Suddenly, an idea struck my head saying why not try learning swimming this vacation.
A sudden enlightment occurred why to waste my vacation without any productive use. So, my first day of swimming was like “An ant left in a glass of water.” Though I had to travel a lot every day to each my swimming pool it was fun to swim every day and meet new people which I always love to do Another incident which happened while swimming was, when I started learning back stroke.

” Life is a journey, not a destination “
I wasn’t able to follow coach’s instructions and somehow I had difficulty in learning it. To my utter horror, when I slip and feel inside water, I miracly started to swim backwards.
This experience taught me that what you sow is what you reap. You have to put your best effort when you are seeking the best results.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
